Introducing A Man of Privilege!

I know I’ve spent a lot of time talking about A Man of His Word, it being my debut novel and all that. And heavens only knows how much I love that book, how much heart and soul I poured into it.

But let’s be honest now. I’ve been going on and on about A Man of His Word for months. Years, even. I think I speak for all of us when I say that it’s time to move on to new hunks (I mean, heroes) and new heroines.
Yes. It’s time to put Dan and Rosebud in the rear-view mirror and start looking toward the future.
And the future looks like this:
Available from: Amazon | Powell’s | B & N
And local bookstores–but not until July 3rd, so be patient!
Oh, yeah, baby. The future looks BRIGHT! And a lot like a young Russell Crowe, don’t you think?
Yes, it’s time to start talking about A Man of Privilege, my July Desire release. Here’s the blurb:
James Carlson is building the biggest case of his career. He’s spent years systematically rooting out corruption in the legal system, and the conviction of a federal judge is the final step before he resigns and runs for office. But to get his conviction, he needs the testimony of a former hooker. Given her wrap sheet, he’s surprised that this potential witness is still alive.
Maggie Eagle Heart wants nothing to do with anything in her past. She’s spent a decade living in anonymity, making Native American jewelry. When she’s hauled into the office of a Special Prosecutor of the Department of Justice, she refused to cooperate. She knows how lawyers and judges operate. She’ll have nothing to do with any of them. Except that James Carlson isn’t like any lawyer she’s ever met. Kind and funny, he doesn’t treat her like a criminal.  In fact, he seems to like her. As her attraction to this outsider grows, Maggie finds herself wondering if she’s finally met the last honest lawyer.
Sounds good, huh? July 3rd is still three whole months off–but the time will fly fast. I’ll set up another blog tour, give away some more jewelry, and do some more signings.

So clear your calendars now–I predict this book will be so big, so awesome when it’s released that the whole nation will set off fireworks in its honor!
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Vote for A MAN OF HIS WORD

Loyal Reader (s),

You should totally vote for the
Cowboy. TOTALLY.

I come to you with a matter of great national importance: DABWAHA. What is DABWAHA, you ask? I don’t have a clue. All I know is that it’s a romance version of the March Madness Bracket. Sixty four books go in; one book emerges as a winner. How does that one book emerge as a winner? Reader votes, most all of which appear to be based on one of two things: Which books a reader has personally read, and which authors generate the most entertaining commentary, known in ‘the biz’ as ‘trash talking.’

So, given that base of cluelessness, I am *thrilled* to tell you that A Man of His Word was reader-nominated for the final spot in the Category category! But we can’t stop there, Loyal Reader(s). We must persevere! I’m up against some big names here–Courtney Milan, Thea Harrison. I make a vow to you–no matter how dirty the tricks Gwen Hayes pulls, I’m not going to curl up in a ball and pretend her words, her evil, evil words, don’t hurt. Instead, I’m going to channel that pain into blind, raging fury. In other words, Loyal Reader(s), I ain’t going down without a fight.

The 1st round voting starts tomorrow, March 15th. Normally, I’d say Beware the Ides of March, but this year, everyone else should beware ME.

As far as I can tell, most of this ‘trash talk’ takes place on Twitter. I’ve already started my campaign against my first-round competition, Here Comes the Groom by Karina Bliss. Below is a sampling of ‘tweets’ staking out my position:

Reasons why you should vote for A MAN OF HIS WORD in #dabwaha: My hero Dan would NEVER plan his own wedding, unlike my competitor’s ‘hero.’

A MAN OF HIS WORD is clean, wholesome romance. No fueling dangerous women fantasies, unlike some Presents and Super Romance books. #DABWAHA

Who needs children & puppies when you can have millionaires who own half of Texas and rides a horse?? Vote A MAN OF HIS WORD!#DABWAHA

Vote for A MAN OF HIS WORD in #DABWAHA: 100% made in America! Canada-smanada, I say!

#DABWAHA Voting Rule: Which *sounds* like more fun: A Desire book or a Super Romance book? I mean, come on-Desire’s RIGHT THERE IN THE TITLE.

Can’t believe @gwenhayes is so naive she fell for @courtneymilan‘s Hasbro Web O Deceit. I’d never be such an easy mark.http://www.gwenhayes.com/2012/03/authors-behaving-badly-shame-on-you.html

Clearly, you must vote for me in #dabwaha and not the gullible@gwenhayes or the conniving @courtneymilan. I’m the only respectable choice!

A vote for A MAN OF HIS WORD is a vote for a Manly Man, the kind who looks good on a horse and better in bed. #dabwaha

Reasons why you should vote for A MAN OF HIS WORD in #dabwaha: Unlike other Sarahs in the competition, I do not teach planking to children.

Reasons why you should vote for A MAN OF HIS WORD in #dabwaha: 1. Cowboys do it better. 2. Shirtless cowboys? HELLO.

Reasons why you should vote for A MAN OF HIS WORD in #dabwaha: 3. It’s a Desire. That makes it awesome. 4. Two words: Campfire scene.

Reasons why you should vote for A MAN OF HIS WORD in #dabwaha: 5. I’d never stoop to bribing voters. But I’m not above buying them a drink!

Reasons why you should vote for A MAN OF HIS WORD in #dabwaha: 6. Of all the Sarahs nominated, I’m *clearly* the most awesome. It’s the hat.

Smart Bitches, Trashy Novels has a blog on this and some of the promotional videos other authors have done for their books. So I don’t have a clue, a video, or a budget for this. I do know it’ll be good, clean fun*! Don’t forget to vote!
*That’s a lie. It’s gonna get dirty around here!

UPDATE: My competitor, Karina Bliss, tried to talk some trash here, but it turns out she’s from Down Under, so she’s not very good at it.

I’ve been busy!

Sarah M. Anderson
Still Authorial after a month off!

Hi, everyone! *waves*

How have you been? I know Authorial Mom Andrea’s been doing pretty good. I’m still thrilled that she sold Baltimore Heat–I read it and I loved it! We may have to have a hero-versus-hero blog at some point.

It’s been a month–okay, more than a month, but who’s counting?–since I went on a blog vacation for January. I know I planned to spend the entire month doing nothing but knitting, watching movies, reading books, and eating bonbons.

Alas, it was not to be. I did watch some movies and the entire series of Firefly (swoon!). I read more books last month than I did all last year (as part of judging the RITA national romance contest). I even started a knitting project! I didn’t eat too many bonbons, though. Instead, I walked on the treadmill more. It’s good for me.

But beyond that, I worked on books. Lots of books–so many, in fact, that I’m going to have to resort to a list to tell you ALL the good news!

1. The follow-up to A Man of His Word is coming July, 2012! A Man of Privilege is now available for pre-order on Amazon here! No cover yet–but it should be up soon. Here’s the hype from RT Book Review’s FOREWORDS – THE BOOKS BEFORE THE BUZZ“Sarah Anderson’s upcoming tale The Last Honest Lawyer (the previous title) features a secret witness, an attorney who is trying to do the right thing and a case of judicial corruption that could have far-reaching consequences. We are looking forward to getting our hands on this Harlequin Desire.”

A Man of His Word
Still available! Order Now!

2. The third book in the series, A Man of Distinction, will be out in September, 2012! Here’s the blurb: Nick Longhair left the Red Creek Indian reservation years ago without a look back. He finished law school and took a position with a prominent law firm. But all the money and women in the world couldn’t fill the void left by Tanya Rattling Blanket. One last night of passion with Nick two years ago left Tanya with a secret–a baby named Bear. When Nick comes home, she’s torn between giving into her desire and protecting her son from a man who she knows won’t stay around long.

So that’s exciting. I’m hip-deep in revisions and proofing these two awesome Harlequin Desire novels. Both are set in the same time and place as A Man of His Word, and Rosebud pops up in both books. I can’t wait to see them on shelves!

But wait! There’s more! Much, much more!

3. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, 2013, The Rancher’s Valentine will be out! I’m writing this right now, and I can tell you that J.R. is positively *dreamy*. Here’s the blurb: James Roberts Bradley burned out early. Ten years ago, he walked away from multi-million dollar film roles and disappeared into the Montana back country. As an assistant producer for a blockbuster Western that already has Oscar written all over it, it’s Thalia Thorne’s job to track Bradley down and sign him to the project. She’s used to dealing with Hollywood egos and hardball negotiation tactics. She never expected to find a real-life cowboy who tips his hat and says ‘no’ with a smile. Can she convince Bradley to take the comeback role of a lifetime?

4. 2013 will also be the year of the Biker Bolton Boys. You like cowboys and Indians, I know–but I’m going to try something fun and different–Bikers and Indians!

In July, 2013, the first Bolton brother book will be out. Here’s the blurb: Ben Bolton is the CFO of Crazy Horse Choppers, a custom-built shop run by his family. CFO doesn’t cover his real job description. His real job is making sure his impulsive younger brother Bobby doesn’t sink the company with his wild schemes. His real job is brokering peace between his creative older brother Billy and their mercurial father. When Josey White Plume walks into his office, the last thing he wants to do is hand out donations to some school in the middle of an Indian reservation. But he’s about to discover that Josey isn’t the kind of woman who takes no for an answer. The only question is, how far will she go to get a yes?

Then, in September, 2013, Ben’s older brother Billy will get a story. Here’s the blurb: “Wild” Bill Bolton is a biker. He rides bikes. He builds bikes. He eats, sleeps, and breathes bikes. Then his youngest brother Bobby signs their family business up for a ‘reality’ show and Bill becomes an unwilling reality star. Overnight, business doubles, and then triples. He becomes famous, which is a real pain in the ass. Bikes become less of a refuge and more of an instrument of torture. Then it gets worse. The producers of the show want to capitalize on the shop’s ‘good will’ and film Bill building a bike out at some school his brother Ben sponsors. At first, Bill can’t imagine how his life could get any worse, but then he meets Jenny Wahwasuck, a young teacher at the school trying to raise a teenage boy all by herself. Can this instant family be the one thing he’s been missing?

So that’s it. (As if that weren’t enough!) Two books this year, three for next year. I won’t say that’s all, because there may be some other surprises, but that’s more than enough to keep me busy for now!

You may have noticed that Authorial Mom Andrea is posting more regularly. She’s going to be taking the Tuesday slot on the blog, and I’m going to be handling Thursday. We’re also going to be having more guest posts from other authors and/or moms. This is an exciting time for all of us, and I’m so glad you’re along for the ride!

Winner!!

I’m thrilled! The A Man of His Word Blog Tour is over (yes, that is thrilling!) and I’ve chosen the winner of the custom-made Locket of Love by Artwear from Wanaree!

And the winner is….

Laurie G! Laurie commented on several blogs, but the winning number (which, if you’re curious, was #170, chosen randomly by random.org) was on The Writing Playground!

Didn’t win a copy of A Man of His Word? Never fear! There are still copies to be had! My cousin, author David Alan Lucas, is giving away a copy on his blog, Coffee with David, so be sure to comment there, too!

And, of course, you can still buy A Man of His Word online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble, as well as a few other places. It won’t be available in stores (that’s just the nature of the game, folks), but it’ll live online for a while longer!

As for me, it’s time to dig into a new story. After this extensive blog tour, I’m going to take the month of January off from blogging and get to work on the next story–you’re going to LOVE J.R. and Thalia!

And don’t forget A Man of Privilege (click here for a preview) and A Man of Honor (click here for yet another preview!) will be here in July and September–it’ll be here before we know it!

Thank you so much for joining me on this wild, fun ride. You’ve made my writing debut a special, wonderful time, and I’ll never forget it!

The Last Leg!

Award-winning, you know! Buy now!

Does anyone else see that bright light? The one at the end of the tunnel? I do!

The Home Stretch of the Blog Tour!

STILL available! Go!

Boy, it’s been a heck of a ride here in Authorial Mom land–and we aren’t done yet!

As always, A Man of His Word is available at most of the general -Marts–Wal, K, and more, in addition to being online just about everywhere. You’ve not only gotten your *own* copy, but several for all of your friends and family, right? Good!

I’m at two blogs this week.

First, there’s still time to comment on my guest blog at the Jaunty Quills, where I actually put up the photo of me in The Bad Hat. *shudders*

Today I’m at Limecello’s blog talking about the *awesome* Book Release Party I threw myself–complete with Book Cake! You’ve got to see the photos, so go! Check it out!

After today, there’s only two stops left on the A Man of His Word Blog Tour–two more chances to win a signed copy, two more opportunities to enter and win the Jewelry Grand Prize!

Still time to enter to win!
December 21: Romance Bandits
December 30: Romance University

After the Blog Tour is over and all prizes have been shipped, I’m going to take January off, read some of the other wonderful books that came out the last two months, and maybe knit a scarf. I’ll check in every so often with a guest blogger, though, so don’t panic on me.

And before you know it, the cover for my July release, A Man of Privilege, will be up, and we’ll do this whole crazy thing all over again!

A Man of His Word is Really, Really OUT!

Today I’m at the Writing Playground, talking about the longest, weirdest books I’ve read (and when I read them).

Be sure to check out this column about me in my local paper–what happens when a seasoned journalist sits down to read a Harlequin Desire–while his wife watches?

I’ll be on the air LIVE on WTAD 930 this Thursday, December 8th, at 9:15, talking with Mary Griffith about A Man of His Word.

There are two book signings this week. If you’re near Quincy, IL, stop by Great Debates this Saturday, December 10 from 10 until 1. It’s going to be a party!

A Man of His Word is Out! I Think!

I think A Man of His Word comes out today. Or maybe not. I can’t tell. I thought it came out on Dec. 6th–but then Amazon lists the release date as today, Nov. 29th. But it won’t ‘deliver’ the Kindle version until Dec. 1st.

In other words, my book is out! Or not! But maybe soon!! I’m excited!!

The blog tour is on-going. Yesterday I was at Nikki Brandyberry’s blog, today Wendy the Super Librarian has posted an *awesome* review at The Good, The Bad, and the Unread, and tomorrow I’ll be all over the map at Romance at Random, Musings from the Slush Pile, and Novel Thoughts.
