I know I’ve spent a lot of time talking about A Man of His Word, it being my debut novel and all that. And heavens only knows how much I love that book, how much heart and soul I poured into it. 

But let’s be honest now. I’ve been going on and on about A Man of His Word for months. Years, even. I think I speak for all of us when I say that it’s time to move on to new hunks (I mean, heroes) and new heroines. 
Yes. It’s time to put Dan and Rosebud in the rear-view mirror and start looking toward the future.

Yes, it’s time to start talking about A Man of Privilege, my July Desire release. Here’s the blurb:
James Carlson is building the biggest case of his career. He’s spent years systematically rooting out corruption in the legal system, and the conviction of a federal judge is the final step before he resigns and runs for office. But to get his conviction, he needs the testimony of a former hooker. Given her wrap sheet, he’s surprised that this potential witness is still alive.
Maggie Eagle Heart wants nothing to do with anything in her past. She’s spent a decade living in anonymity, making Native American jewelry. When she’s hauled into the office of a Special Prosecutor of the Department of Justice, she refused to cooperate. She knows how lawyers and judges operate. She’ll have nothing to do with any of them. Except that James Carlson isn’t like any lawyer she’s ever met. Kind and funny, he doesn’t treat her like a criminal.  In fact, he seems to like her. As her attraction to this outsider grows, Maggie finds herself wondering if she’s finally met the last honest lawyer.
Sounds good, huh? July 3rd is still three whole months off–but the time will fly fast. I’ll set up another blog tour, give away some more jewelry, and do some more signings.

So clear your calendars now–I predict this book will be so big, so awesome when it’s released that the whole nation will set off fireworks in its honor!

I come to you with a matter of great national importance: DABWAHA. What is DABWAHA, you ask? I don’t have a clue. All I know is that it’s a romance version of the March Madness Bracket. Sixty four books go in; one book emerges as a winner. How does that one book emerge as a winner? Reader votes, most all of which appear to be based on one of two things: Which books a reader has personally read, and which authors generate the most entertaining commentary, known in ‘the biz’ as ‘trash talking.’

So, given that base of cluelessness, I am *thrilled* to tell you that A Man of His Word was reader-nominated for the final spot in the Category category! But we can’t stop there, Loyal Reader(s). We must persevere! I’m up against some big names here–Courtney Milan, Thea Harrison. I make a vow to you–no matter how dirty the tricks Gwen Hayes pulls, I’m not going to curl up in a ball and pretend her words, her evil, evil words, don’t hurt. Instead, I’m going to channel that pain into blind, raging fury. In other words, Loyal Reader(s), I ain’t going down without a fight.

The 1st round voting starts tomorrow, March 15th. Normally, I’d say Beware the Ides of March, but this year, everyone else should beware ME.

As far as I can tell, most of this ‘trash talk’ takes place on Twitter. I’ve already started my campaign against my first-round competition, Here Comes the Groom by Karina Bliss. Below is a sampling of ‘tweets’ staking out my position:

Still Authorial after a month off!

Hi, everyone! *waves*


How have you been? I know Authorial Mom Andrea’s been doing pretty good. I’m still thrilled that she sold Baltimore Heat–I read it and I loved it! We may have to have a hero-versus-hero blog at some point.


 It’s been a month–okay, more than a month, but who’s counting?–since I went on a blog vacation for January. I know I planned to spend the entire month doing nothing but knitting, watching movies, reading books, and eating bonbons.


Alas, it was not to be. I did watch some movies and the entire series of Firefly (swoon!). I read more books last month than I did all last year (as part of judging the RITA national romance contest). I even started a knitting project! I didn’t eat too many bonbons, though. Instead, I walked on the treadmill more. It’s good for me.


But beyond that, I worked on books. Lots of books–so many, in fact, that I’m going to have to resort to a list to tell you ALL the good news!


1. The follow-up to A Man of His Word is coming July, 2012! A Man of Privilege is now available for pre-order on Amazon here! No cover yet–but it should be up soon. Here’s the hype from RT Book Review’s FOREWORDS – THE BOOKS BEFORE THE BUZZ: “Sarah Anderson’s upcoming tale The Last Honest Lawyer (the previous title) features a secret witness, an attorney who is trying to do the right thing and a case of judicial corruption that could have far-reaching consequences. We are looking forward to getting our hands on this Harlequin Desire.”

2. The third book in the series, A Man of Distinction, will be out in September, 2012! Here’s the blurb: Nick Longhair left the Red Creek Indian reservation years ago without a look back. So that’s exciting. I’m hip-deep in revisions and proofing these two awesome Harlequin Desire novels. Both are set in the same time and place as A Man of His Word, and Rosebud pops up in both books. I can’t wait to see them on shelves!

3. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, 2013, The Rancher’s Valentine will be out! I’m writing this right now, and I can tell you that J.R. is positively *dreamy*. Here’s the blurb: James Roberts Bradley burned out early. Ten years ago, he walked away from multi-million dollar film roles and disappeared into the Montana back country. As an assistant producer for a blockbuster Western that already has Oscar written all over it, it’s Thalia Thorne’s job to track Bradley down and sign him to the project. She’s used to dealing with Hollywood egos and hardball negotiation tactics. She never expected to find a real-life cowboy who tips his hat and says ‘no’ with a smile. 4. 2013 will also be the year of the Biker Bolton Boys. You like cowboys and Indians, I know–but I’m going to try something fun and different–Bikers and Indians! 


In July, 2013, the first Bolton brother book will be out. Here’s the blurb: Ben Bolton is the CFO of Crazy Horse Choppers, a custom-built shop run by his family. CFO doesn’t cover his real job description. His real job is making sure his impulsive younger brother Bobby doesn’t sink the company with his wild schemes. His real job is brokering peace between his creative older brother Billy and their mercurial father. When Josey White Plume walks into his office, the last thing he wants to do is hand out donations to some school in the middle of an Indian reservation. But he’s about to discover that Josey isn’t the kind of woman who takes no for an answer. The only question is, how far will she go to get a yes?

Can this instant family be the one thing he’s been missing?


So that’s it. (As if that weren’t enough!) Two books this year, three for next year. I won’t say that’s all, because there may be some other surprises, but that’s more than enough to keep me busy for now!

We’re also going to be having more guest posts from other authors and/or moms. This is an exciting time for all of us, and I’m so glad you’re along for the ride!

A Man of His Word is Out! I Think!

I think A Man of His Word comes out today. Or maybe not. I can’t tell. I thought it came out on Dec. 6th–but then Amazon lists the release date as today, Nov. 29th. But it won’t ‘deliver’ the Kindle version until Dec. 1st.

In other words, my book is out! Or not! But maybe soon!! I’m excited!!

The blog tour is on-going. Yesterday I was at Nikki Brandyberry’s blog, today Wendy the Super Librarian has posted an *awesome* review at The Good, The Bad, and the Unread, and tomorrow I’ll be all over the map at Romance at Random, Musings from the Slush Pile, and Novel Thoughts.

Whew! I’m kind of tired just thinking about it!
